Equality in Maryland Campaign

Chris is a transgender veteran of the U.S. Air force and a military spouse.  He works with local marriage equality and gender identity support wherever he and his family are stationed hoping to bring equality for all genders and sexualities, including all LGBT+ military members and veterans.

Kim Miller is the Office Administrator for Equality Maryland, where she can be found keeping track of all of the staff’s daily needs.  In her free time, she writes, where she’s known for her Revolutionary War era novels.

Kim Miller believes in equality for ALL Marylanders regardless of their gender identity, expression, or sexual orientation.  Partnered, and committed to feeding animals of all sorts in her backyard, Kim is a true team player when it comes to supporting equality.

Sama Bellomo, is a transgender Marylander who believes that equality goes beyond being treated “as if” we are the same, but actually means being treated alike and equal BECAUSE we/are/the same.

Sama recently started a non-profit group run solely by volunteers called Marryland Etc! which will work for, among other things, LGBT equality and LGBT rights in Maryland.  For more information on Sama’s initiative, visit www.marryland.org.

Owen, Equality Maryland’s Gender Identity Advocate often feels as though gender identity issues take a back seat in Maryland.  Just look at how the General Assembly treated the Gender Identity Anti-discrimination Act this past year. But we are making progress and with continued support from the community, we’re fighting to make 2012 the year we win these protections.
